Refund & Cancellation Policy.

Cancel whenever you like, in two clicks, and keep the access you have already paid for until the period runs out. What we do not do is refund fees after the fact. This page explains exactly how cancellation works, the narrow cases where money does come back, and why the default is what it is.

You were charged after cancelling correctlyFull refund of the charge that should not have been taken.
We permanently shut the service downBilling stops. A pro-rata credit for the unused remainder is at our discretion, not an entitlement.
This table summarises the clauses below. Where they differ, the clauses govern.

How to cancel

  1. Sign in and open Dashboard → Settings.
  2. Choose to cancel your subscription and confirm.
  3. Your status changes immediately — to canceling on a paid plan, or straight to cancelled during a trial — and the recurring mandate is cancelled with Razorpay so no further debit is attempted.

If the dashboard is unreachable, email legal@imitationengine.com from your account address with the word “cancel”. A cancellation request by email takes effect on the date we receive it, provided it is unambiguous and comes from the account email.

Important

Cancel before your next renewal date. A cancellation received after a renewal has been charged does not reverse that charge — it stops the one after it. Renewal dates are shown in the dashboard; it is your responsibility to know yours.

Deleting the plugin, uninstalling it, revoking your token, letting your Claude Code subscription lapse or simply not using the service does not cancel your subscription. Only cancelling cancels it.

What cancelling does — and does not — do

On a paid plan

  • All future renewals stop and the payment mandate is cancelled.
  • You keep full access, including your remaining usage allowance, until the end of the period you have already paid for.
  • At that date access ends, the plugin stops being authorised, and the dashboard becomes read-limited.
  • No refund is given for the remainder of the period, whether or not you use it.

Your data and your work

  • Output already generated on your machine is yours and is unaffected — it is your files, on your disk, and it keeps working without us.
  • Projects, page hierarchies and usage history remain in the dashboard for a period after access ends, and are deleted according to the Privacy Policy. Export anything you need before your access ends.
  • Resubscribing later restores access. We do not guarantee that your previous projects will still exist, so do not rely on them being there.

Cancelling during the free trial

  • The trial requires a payment instrument. Razorpay may take a small verification charge at sign-up, which is refunded automatically — that is a card authorisation, not a subscription fee.
  • The first real charge fires automatically at the end of the 3-day trial unless you cancel before then. Set yourself a reminder.
  • Cancelling during a trial is immediate and ends access straight away. We do not run the trial to its end, because waiting would let the first charge fire. Cancel when you have decided, not before you want to stop using it.
  • If you cancel in time you are never charged, and there is nothing to refund. If the first charge has already been taken, the paid-plan rules apply from that point.
  • One trial per account and per person, ever.

The no-refund rule

Please read before subscribing

ALL FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. THIS INCLUDES PARTIAL BILLING PERIODS, UNUSED USAGE ALLOWANCE, PERIODS IN WHICH YOU DID NOT USE THE SERVICE AT ALL, AND ANY PERIOD REMAINING AFTER YOU CANCEL OR AFTER WE TERMINATE YOUR ACCOUNT FOR BREACH.

WE DO NOT PRO-RATE. WE DO NOT REFUND ON REQUEST. WE DO NOT ISSUE SERVICE CREDITS FOR DOWNTIME, DEGRADED PERFORMANCE, ALLOWANCE LIMITS, OR THE SERVICE FAILING TO PRODUCE THE RESULT YOU WANTED ON A PARTICULAR TARGET.

In particular, none of the following is a ground for a refund:

  • a clone that came out imperfectly, partially or not at all — fidelity varies with the target and is expressly not warranted (see the Terms);
  • a target that blocks automation, requires authentication you do not have, geofences you, rate-limits you or changes its markup;
  • the service, our API or the dashboard being unavailable, slow or broken for any length of time — there is no uptime commitment;
  • a change, outage, price change, policy change or restriction by Anthropic, Razorpay, a hosting provider, Playwright or Chromium, including one that stops the plugin working;
  • your allowance being exhausted, or a quota refusal mid-project;
  • a feature being removed, deprecated, changed, or never shipping at all, including anything marked “coming soon”;
  • you changing your mind, buying the wrong plan, buying the wrong billing period, or forgetting to cancel;
  • your own environment — operating system, runtime versions, network, proxy or corporate policy — preventing the plugin from running;
  • your Claude Code subscription lapsing, being suspended, or its limits being reached;
  • termination of your account for breach of the Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy.

In plain English

Why so firm? This is a small, independently run product sold at a low monthly price, and the trial exists precisely so you can find out whether it works for your targets before paying anything. Use the trial, start on a weekly period if you want a shorter commitment, and cancel the moment it stops being worth it — you will never be charged for a period you did not choose to start.

Where we always do refund

These are billing errors, not changes of mind, and we fix them without argument:

  • Duplicate charges. You were billed more than once for the same period. We refund the duplicates in full.
  • Charges after a valid cancellation. You cancelled properly and were charged anyway. Refunded in full.
  • Charges after a trial you cancelled in time. Refunded in full.
  • Wrong amount. You were charged more than the price applicable to your plan and period. We refund the difference.
  • A charge you never authorised. Where a payment was made on your instrument without your authority and Razorpay confirms it, we refund it and close the account.
  • Anything the law requires. Where a mandatory consumer right in your jurisdiction gives you a refund that this policy would otherwise deny, that right prevails and we will honour it.

Report a billing error to legal@imitationengine.com within 60 days of the charge appearing on your statement, with the payment reference. Later than that and we may be unable to reverse it through the processor.

Where we may refund, but are not obliged to

We would rather have a fair reputation than one extra month of someone who is unhappy. So we may, entirely at our discretion and on a case-by-case basis, refund or credit:

  • a first-ever payment where you subscribed by mistake and tell us within a few days, having made little or no use of the allowance;
  • a renewal you clearly intended to cancel, where the account shows no usage in the new period and you raise it promptly;
  • a period rendered largely unusable by a defect on our side that we can see and could not work around.

Important

Exercising this discretion once, or for someone else, creates no entitlement, no precedent, no waiver of the no-refund rule and no obligation to do so again in any similar case. Nothing in this clause is a promise.

If we change or discontinue the service

As set out in the Terms of Service, we may change, restrict or permanently discontinue the service at any time, including because it is no longer commercially viable to run.

  • We will make reasonable efforts to give advance notice and will stop billing you and cancel mandates where we are able to.
  • Output already on your machine is unaffected — it is your code, on your disk. Features that require our API stop working.
  • We may, at our sole discretion, credit or refund the unused remainder of a period already paid at the time of a permanent shutdown. This is a discretion, not an entitlement.

No liability for discontinuation

NEITHER DISCONTINUATION NOR CLOSURE OF THE BUSINESS CREATES ANY OBLIGATION TO REFUND, CREDIT, COMPENSATE, MIGRATE, TRANSITION, ESCROW, OPEN-SOURCE OR CONTINUE ANYTHING, AND WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR LOST PROFITS, WASTED EXPENDITURE, PROJECT DELAY, THE COST OF A REPLACEMENT TOOL, OR ANY COMMITMENT YOU MADE TO A THIRD PARTY IN RELIANCE ON THE SERVICE CONTINUING TO EXIST.

How an approved refund is paid

  • Refunds are issued through Razorpay to the original payment instrument only. We cannot refund to a different card, account, wallet or person, and we do not refund in cash, crypto or store credit.
  • We initiate an approved refund within 7 business days of approving it. Razorpay and your bank then take their own time — typically 5 to 10 business days, occasionally longer for international cards.
  • Refunds are net of any bank, gateway, currency-conversion or cross-border fee that is not recoverable, and of any tax already remitted where the tax authority does not permit reversal.
  • If a refund cannot be processed to the original instrument — a closed card, a lapsed mandate — we will work with you on an alternative, but we are not liable for a refund that the processor will not route.
  • A refund of a period ends access for that period immediately unless we say otherwise, and a refunded trial or period may make you ineligible for a further trial.

Upgrades, downgrades and period changes

  • Upgrades are self-serve and take effect immediately. Any amount already paid on the lower plan for the current period is not refunded or pro-rated unless we say so at checkout.
  • Upgrading during a trial ends the trial and starts paid billing at once.
  • Downgrades are not self-serve. Cancel the current plan, let the paid period run out, and subscribe to the lower one. No refund of the difference is given for the overlapping period.
  • Changing billing period (weekly to monthly or back) works the same way — the new period starts fresh, with no credit for the old one.
  • Usage allowance is per plan and per metering window. Changing plans mid-window does not restore spent units or carry unused ones across.

Failed and retried payments

  • If a renewal fails, Razorpay may retry it. Your account moves to past_due and keeps working for a grace period of about 72 hours, after which access lapses.
  • Access returns as soon as a retry succeeds or you pay manually. A lapse caused by your payment failing is not grounds for a refund, a credit or an extension.
  • A successful retry after a lapse is a valid charge for the new period. If you did not want it, cancel — do not rely on the payment failing again.

Chargebacks and mandate disputes

Important

Talk to us before you talk to your bank. Raising a chargeback or mandate dispute without first giving us a reasonable chance to resolve the matter is a breach of the Terms of Service.

  • We may suspend the account for the duration of a dispute and will submit our records of usage and cancellation state to the processor.
  • Where a chargeback is decided against you, or is withdrawn, we may recover from you any fee the processor charged us in respect of it before restoring access.
  • An account that has charged back a legitimate payment may be refused future service.

If something has gone wrong

Email legal@imitationengine.com from your account address with the payment reference, the date and what you believe happened. We aim to acknowledge within 2 business days and to resolve billing questions within 7. If you are not satisfied with the outcome, the escalation route is in Governing law and dispute resolution — informal resolution first, then arbitration in India.

This policy forms part of the Terms of Service and is governed by the same law and dispute-resolution clauses. Where a mandatory consumer protection in your own jurisdiction gives you more than this policy does, that protection applies and nothing here is intended to remove it.
